The use of slope monitoring systems can be an effective approach for many unstable of potentially unstable slopes. These systems are comprised of in-place inclinometers, tiltmeters, extensometers and time domain reflectometry. All of these systems can provide the owners much of the information necessary to monitor slope movement and allowing for a higher level of safety and some form of mitigation before failure occurs.
